The 'big four' banks (National Australia, Commonwealth, Westpac and ANZ), all have branches throughout Tasmania. There are a few local banks and credit unions, the largest of which is Bass & Equitable (or B&E).

Except for Bendigo Bank, interstate credit unions and regional banks such as St. George's tend not to have brances in Tasmania. The ATM cards from these banks should still work (fee may apply) and EFTPOS is available throughout the state.
