Hobart
Hobart airport is located on the eastern shore of the Derwent River, approximately 14 km (9 mi) from the city. Hobart itself is on the western shore of the river. Taxi cost to the airport is approximately A$27; there is also an airport shuttle operated by Redline Coaches at regular intervals.
Qantas, JetStar and Virgin Blue all offer jet service to Hobart. Qantas flies from Melbourne (2x daily) and Sydney (daily). JetStar flies from Melbourne (4x daily), Sydney (2x daily) and Brisbane (3x per week). Virgin Blue flies from Melbourne (4x daily), Sydney (2x daily), Brisbane (daily) and Adelaide (3x per week).
Hobart airport is quite small with no jetways, but is currently undergoing some major renovations.
Launceston
Launceston airport is located south of the city close to Evandale, about 18 km (11 mi) from the city centre. The taxi fare from the airport to the city is approximately A$20. Launceston airport is quite small with no jetways.
JetStar and Virgin Blue both offer jet service to Launceston, while Qantas offers turboprop service via QantasLink. Qantas flies from Melbourne (2x daily). JetStar flies from Melbourne (3x daily), Sydney (daily) and Brisbane (3x per week). Virgin Blue flies from Melbourne (4x daily) and Sydney (daily).
Devonport and Wynyard (Burnie)
QantasLink offers four flights per day from Devonport to/from Melbourne. Regional Express (REX) offers three flights per day from Burnie to/from Melbourne.
Services to these airports are turboprop. Devonport airport is located just east of the city. Burnie airport (also called Wynyard airport) is in Wynyard, which is 18 km (11 mi) from Burnie.
King Island
Regional Express (REX) offers one turboprop flight per day to/from Melbourne. TasAir offers service twice daily from each of Burnie and Devonport. King Island Air offers service twice daily from Moorabbin (near Melbourne).
