Which fast food, department store etc. chains operate in Tasmania?

Fast foods

For some years, Tasmania had the distinction of being the only state in Australia without a McDonalds franchise. That has been well and truly changed, and these are now common.

You can also go to KFC, Pizza Hut, Domino's, Wendy's or Subway in Tasmania. There is no Little Caesar's, no A&W's, and no Taco Bell.

Until recently, there were no Hungry Jacks (or Burger King), but they are slowly beginning to appear.

Department stores

Myer, Harris Scarfe, Target and K-Mart all have shops in Tasmania. There are no David Jones or Grace Brothers.

Supermarkets

Woolworths formerly traded as Roelf Vos (in the north) and Purity (in the south) but has now unified the brand. Coles also has shops in Tasmania.
