Hobart is approximately one hour from Melbourne by air, and two hours from Sydney.
A flight from Melbourne to London takes around 22 hours, and from Sydney to Los Angeles takes around 14 hours. By the time you account for immigrations, connections and so forth, flying from the east coast of the US to Hobart could consume 30 hours from start to finish.
Up to three movies are shown on flights into Australia, and the seats tend to be bigger than those on domestic flights.
